BOOKLET DESCRIPTION: This is a collection of true stories about real people in Ohio who have been diagnosed with a mental illness and have found competitive jobs in their local communities with help from servce providers who use Supported Employment (SE), the evidence-based practice. Communicate with multiple audiences about the advantages of SE:
A.) Recruit people with mental illness to SE services. . . . This booklet is an ideal tool for showing people who are hesitant about work that they, too, may find competitive part-time or full-time jobs in their communities.
B.) Educate, train, and build consensus about SE among advocates, family members, service providers, service organizations, service systems, policy makers, community stakeholders, and employers, among others. Use it in meetings, presentations, staff recruitment and orientation, and training events.
C.) Job development . . . Use this booklet to show potential employers that they, too, may benefit from SE by getting connected with people who want to work.
D.) Advocacy . . . Use this booklet to advocate for service innovation, enhanced outcomes, and increased quality of life in your community.
